Even thou you may have 4 or 8 MEGs of RAM in your computer, this doesn't effect convention RAM at all. To see how much convention RAM is available in your computer, At the DOS prompt type: mem [enter]. If you conventional memory is below 590K, you will most likely have problems running some of the games. To increse conventional RAM, try using the built in memory manager that comes with DOS 6.0+. type: memmaker [enter] You should pick "YES" for EMS memory enabled. There is around 20 games on this disc that require it, they are maked with a (EMS) after the title line. IF your conventional RAM is to low after picking this option, you can do one of two things, make a boot disk with the minumin requirements to get your system up and running, or remove some device drivers or TRS programs from your config.sys or autoexec.bat files that are not necessary. (Consult a good DOS book on how to do this). 2) SOUND PROBLEMS: We have set all the games in the menus to use SOUND BLASTER PRO or SOUND BLASTER 16 setting. These are the most popular cards out on the market. Sound card addresses are IRQ5, IO port 220, DMA channel 1. A couple of things to consider. Make sure that you have a SET BLASTER= statement in your autoexec.bat file. A lot of the games will sense your sound card setting from this statement. If you are running your sound card on IRQ 7, consider reinstalling your card to run on IRQ 5 instead. (Consult you sound card manuals for instructions on how to do this). 3) DISK CACHING: You should have SMARTDRV or any other cacheing program loaded to enable faster operation of loading the games. 4) GAME STILL WON'T WORK: Most problems go away when you install the game program onto your hard drive. To do this, all the games are in sub-directories on the CD-ROM. All you have to do is search the "Games", "Games1" or "Games2" directories, find the name of the sub-directory containing the games you want to copy. At the DOS prompt: type XCOPY e:\games\joust c:\joust\ /s where e: is the letter of your CD-ROM drive, joust is the name of the game directory, c: is the letter of the hard drive. Or if you have windows, you can use the FILE MANAGER to copy directories. This is much easier if you are not good at DOS. After that, cd to the directory containing the game and run the INSTALL, CONFIG, or SETUP program to setup your sound card and ram requirments. 5) VIDEO CARD: Most games require a VGA or better video card to run. Make sure that you are running a VESA compliant card and have the VESA drivers installed. (Check your video card documentation for this). 6) FINAL NOTE: It is common that around 5-10% of the games won't work on your system or run directly from the menu without being installed first. You can contact the authors of the programs for help on hardware conflicts. Most of them have documantion in their sub-directories on this disc. 7) MENU: The menu programs runs better and easier if you have your mouse installed. If you like this menu, a shareware version is included on this disc in the directory called "magicdsk". you can install it to your hard drive and add all your programs to it. 8) MORE: For additional information on obtaining additional copies, reselling this disc, or selling other products, contact: MVP Publishing (810) 731-5621, USA
